After tea we went and visited the Grotto of Lady Fatima where thousands of people come from all over the world to be healed. Here we saw the crutches left by people who were successfully healed and the healing baths and the holy water springs.
By this time it was growing colder and colder so we took a vote and the majority decided to go straight through to Paris the next day.
We were very tired when we arrived in Paris as it had been a long journey. We discovered our Kiwi friends in Paris and they were kind enough to put our tents up for us while we had hot showers and cleaned up.
After tea Heather and I went into Paris with the Kiwis and we had our first glimpse of the Arc de Triumph and the mad Paris driving, the wide streets, and the gaiety of Paris.
The next day we walked around Paris all day on the left bank and the right bank and browsed around the many fashionable and expensive stores.
That night we went to the Follies Begiere' and imagined ourselves as Royalty as we sat and watched the show which had the most amazing stage settings and glittering costumes I have ever seen.
The young girl from Adelaide had never seen the likes of it!
A big sight-seeing day. We first of all visited the Palace at Versailles. This was where all the King Louis lived. We went into the State Apartments, which were very nice with rich furnishings etc., and walked around the very large and beautifully set out gardens surrounding the Palace. The Eiffel Tower - we had all been looking forward to this. It cost 7/6 to go to the top, but we felt it was worth it, so paid and went up in three different lifts to the top, from where we had an aerial view of Paris, the Sienne and its bridges. Napolean's tomb, situated in the Invalids Church is the most beautiful tomb I have yet to see. It is better than St Peter's to my way of thinking. The Invalids, is a hotel built for invalids to stay in, the cost of their board depending on the number of limbs they have missing.

The Notre Dame - the famous church, also one of the seven wonders, is very old, built in the 12th Century and very large. From the Notre Dame we walked across the Sienne to the sidewalks where artists paint and sell their originals. It was very interesting watching them at work. We then drove up to the Sacra cur - Church of the Sacred Heart - built on a hill at the top of the Montmart which is a famous street in Paris which leads you past the Moulin Rouge and all the main night clubs.
We had moved into a Pensione as the weather was very cold and wet, and here we spent our last night of the tour.
The 9th November at 7am, a dark cold morning, we left Paris and drove towards Bolougne where we were to catch our Ferry and return to England. All the girls were rather quiet and I guess we all felt as if a lot of friendships would end, never-the-less we had many memories, and many good times to look back on for the rest of our lives.
THE END!
